Sucks. I understand the importance of professionalism, but as long as you state your opinion in a professional manner one should be able to speak freely. I don't enjoy being censored, especially over something so minute.
As someone who works promotions pretty much full time, I'm just sick of the lack of respect us promo girls get. You urge us to show up to every event on time, to be well groomed and in good shape. You freak out if we have an emergency and can't make it. You flip out and tell us it's oh so IMPORTANT to the client to be at EVERY event. If it's so friggin important then treat us like we're important.
Don't make disorganized haphazard schedules, give us less than a weeks notice, and then wonder why no one can work an event! Don't pay us incorrectly, don't pay us 2 weeks late. Don't pay us late AGAIN and not inform us when you very well knew.
OK. Now that my mini rant is over I will make this blog more balanced ;-) There are a lot of perks to being a promo girl, so I don't mean to be ungrateful for sure! I've gotten into awesome open bar parties, award shows, and plenty of cover free nights out. The actual job itself is very simple and stress free, just basically smiling, interacting with people and having a good time. I just wish that some of the companies would realize that if they treat their girls better they would get more reliable girls to work for them :-)
